What Is Meta AI?
Meta AI is a free AI assistant built by Meta (the parent company of Facebook). On April 8, 2026, Meta Superintelligence Labs released the brand-new Muse Spark model, dramatically elevating Meta AI's capabilities. Muse Spark is a natively multimodal reasoning model with support for tool-use, visual chain-of-thought reasoning, and multi-agent orchestration — delivering strong performance in health reasoning, visual STEM questions, entity recognition, and more.
Muse Spark Highlights
- Contemplating mode: Orchestrates multiple agents reasoning in parallel, achieving 58% on Humanity's Last Exam — competing directly with top reasoning modes like Gemini Deep Think and GPT Pro
- Extreme training efficiency: Meta rebuilt their pretraining stack, reaching equivalent capabilities with over 10x less compute than the previous-generation Llama 4 Maverick
- Health and wellness assistant: Trained with over 1,000 physicians, it can interactively explain nutritional content, muscle activation during exercise, and more
- Visual reasoning: Understands images of your surroundings and can generate interactive mini-games, annotated troubleshooting guides, and dynamic visual explanations
- Thought compression: Solves problems with fewer tokens while maintaining accuracy, resulting in faster responses
- Completely free: All features are available at no cost on meta.ai
However, Meta AI is currently not available in Hong Kong and Macau — visiting meta.ai directly will be blocked by regional restrictions. With OpenHK proxy service, you can easily bypass these restrictions and access all of Meta AI and Muse Spark's features.
Prerequisites
- An active OpenHK proxy service subscription, configured on your device
- A web browser (Chrome, Safari, Edge, etc.)
- An email address (Gmail, Outlook, or any other provider)
Step 1: Connect to OpenHK
Before you begin, make sure your device is connected to the OpenHK proxy service. You can open any webpage to confirm your connection is working, or check the connection status in your dashboard.
Tip: You need to stay connected to OpenHK throughout the entire process — both during registration and when using Meta AI day-to-day.
Step 2: Clear Your Browser History
This step is crucial. Old cookies and cached data in your browser may retain your previous location information, causing Meta AI to still detect you as being in a restricted region. Clearing your browser data prevents this issue.
Chrome
- Click the three-dot menu (top right) → Settings
- Click Privacy and security on the left sidebar
- Click Delete browsing data
- Set the time range to All time
- Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
- Click Delete data
Safari (Mac)
- Click Safari in the menu bar → Settings
- Go to the Privacy tab
- Click Manage Website Data… → Remove All
Safari (iPhone / iPad)
- Open Settings → Safari
- Tap Clear History and Website Data
Edge
- Click the three-dot menu (top right) → Settings
- Click Privacy, search, and services on the left sidebar
- Under "Clear browsing data", click Choose what to clear
- Set the time range to All time
- Check Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files
- Click Clear now
Step 3: Sign Up for a Meta AI Account
After clearing your browser data, follow these steps to create a brand-new Meta account:
- Open your browser and go to meta.ai
- Click the Sign up button on the page
- From the sign-in options, choose Use mobile number or email
- Enter your email address
- Set a password and fill in basic information (name, date of birth, etc.)
- Meta will send a verification email to your inbox — open it and click the verification link
- Once verified, your Meta AI account is ready to use
Step 4: Start Using Meta AI
Once your account is set up, simply log in at meta.ai to get started. With the Muse Spark model, you can:
- Everyday Q&A and writing: Ask any question, write articles, translate content
- Image generation and visual understanding: Generate images, or upload photos for Meta AI to analyze and interpret
- Health and wellness insights: Look up nutritional content of foods, understand muscle activation during exercise, and get interactive health information
- Contemplating mode: For complex problems, enable Contemplating mode to have multiple agents reason in parallel for deeper, more thorough analysis (see details below)
- Interactive learning: Get annotated, step-by-step visual explanations powered by visual chain-of-thought reasoning
Contemplating Mode Explained
Contemplating mode is Muse Spark's advanced reasoning mode, built around the core idea of multi-agent parallel collaboration to solve complex problems.
The traditional approach to enhancing reasoning is to have a single model "think longer" — generating a longer chain of thought. But this significantly increases response latency. Contemplating mode takes a fundamentally different approach: it launches multiple reasoning agents to think in parallel simultaneously, then synthesizes their results. This delivers stronger reasoning performance without a major increase in latency.
Important Notes
- Stay connected to OpenHK: Make sure the OpenHK proxy service is active every time you use Meta AI
